About us

Old Timers Online was founded in 2001, independently of the West End House Camp, Inc. All content on the web site has been published by individual alumni with the aim of reviving the West End House Alumni Association.

"Old Timers" is an honorary reference to the Italian and Jewish immigrants and their kin that West End House benefited while operating in the West End of Boston. Today, nearly 20% of campers are related to camp alumni, and the WEH organizations are serving children of many, many different ethnicities. These are the future Old Timers.

"Old Timers Week" featured in much of the media on this site is a 21+ alumni weekend/retreat hosted at the camp in Maine following the departure of the campers. It is known for alcohol, card games, and fraternity. It's not for everybody, but it raises enough donations and fees to cover over 15% of the camp's annual operating expenses.

Our online association currently has over 300 registered members and exists to benefit all WEH organizations. This web site is frequented by thousands of visitors from all over the world who we presume are amongst thousands of former campers and staff. If the WEH positively affected your life, please join us in keeping the Spirit alive.
